Hello friends and family! So much as happened in the last year, I don’t really know where to start!

Well, starting all the way back in ’07, I sensed God leading me in the direction of ministry of some kind. It was then that I began looking for colleges and internships that would provide the schooling I needed. I got discouraged because nothing came up from my efforts, but it wasn’t God’s timing. Fast forward to spring of 2010 while looking at horse trainers on line, I found the answer to three years of prayer by “accident”, Miracle Mountain Ranch’s “School of Discipleship” in Spring Creek, PA, 40 minutes southeast of Erie.  The Miracle Mountain Ranch School of Discipleship is a Christian discipleship and leadership program designed for High School graduates serious about building godly disciplines in their life.

That summer I applied, was accepted as an apprentice, and arrived that fall to begin my 11 month training. At the Ranch, I took classes on how to use horses as a tool for ministering as well as some horse science classes, and thought that this was what God wanted me to pursue. God had something different in mind; I majored in programming instead of horsemanship and minored in the shop/operations department.

There God provided opportunities to serve by driving hayrides, fixing tractors, baling hay and even being a summer camp counselor for a week! As my training was coming to an end, I began seeking God even more concerning what He wanted me to do next. I had been praying about the possibility of coming on staff and not long before graduation the executive director Matt Cox “popped the question” to me, “Would you like to come on staff here?” I said yes! God is so good, the staff had been praying about this as long as I had!

Right now I hold a junior staff position, which is a one year commitment that can be renewed every year depending on what God has in store. I serve in the operations department with Mark Carpenter and Roger Piger. Some of the projects we’re currently working on are a new operations head quarters building that will allow us to offer woodshop and automotive minors for students in the future. Also, we’re looking at getting started on a new restroom building that will accommodate our ever-growing summer camp numbers as well as winter camps. Something that was new for this past summer was paintball camp and God blessed that part of the ministry so much that expanding the course is also part of the plan!

Another thing God has blessed me with is the privilege of working closely with the apprentices. I really enjoy sharing God’s truths with them whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Some things you can be praying about are:

  • That my focus will be fully on God and my relationship with Him will come first.
  • That I will have a willing heart.
  • That the ministry will continue to grow.
  • That the students will hear God’s Word.

All of the staff at MMR serve on a mission support basis and must raise their own support to be a part of the ministry here. Therefore, I am now beginning the process of raising support. The recommended support level for a single staff member is $850 a month. Would you prayerfully consider being a part of my support team? If you feel God is leading to do so, the process is simple. All gifts are tax deductible and should be made out to MMR, then designated for me on a separate piece of paper. Gifts can be mailed to the Ranch at 101 Rodeo Drive, Spring Creek, PA 16436.

I receive 100% of all gifts designated for me.  If you would like any additional information, just let me know. Also, if your church, or someone you know is interested in finding out more about the ministry of MMR, School of Discipleship, or my part in the ministry here, I would be glad to visit and share my ministry and the ministry of MMR. I can be contacted at the address above or at (850)461-1714. You can also easily find much information about the ministry of MMR by visiting the website listed above. And you are always welcome to come visit and see the ministry for yourself!
