Dear Friends of Miracle Mountain Ranch,
On New Year’s Eve in 2014, we rejoiced in the Lord’s provision as we felt the weight of the $6,600/month bank mortgage lifted off of the ministry of Miracle Mountain Ranch through an incredible matching fund. The remaining $8,333/month Balloon Payment for the timber and mineral rights on the 530 acres was a lot for our operating budget, preventing us from moving forward with other ministry-related projects.
A few months ago, our idea was to try to raise $100,000 to cover a year’s worth of payments toward the timber and minerals. God, however, had another plan—something far greater! In September of 2015, a couple shared with the Executive Team how they believed God was leading them to lift a burden off the ministry and pay off the Balloon Payment owed to Lew Sterrett. It was their desire to see us refocus on ministry to people. We were once again stunned and in awe of the provision of God. God is so big and our plans are so small! Miracle Mountain Ranch Missions is now debt-free, and for the first time in its 51-year history, all 600+ acres of “The Ranch” is owned in its entirety by the ministry.
Moving forward, there are two primary areas of need and ministry opportunity where we see God calling us to focus in 2016:
The Brokenstraw Bathhouse and Inn:
$75,000–$100,000 needed to complete this project.
Completion of the Brokenstraw Bathhouse and Inn has largely been on a holding pattern as finances were directed mainly to the Land Campaign over the last number of years. Since 2010, we have seen summer camp grow from 800 to 1,200 kids per summer and we have limited room to continue that growth until the Brokenstraw is complete. It is difficult to estimate the exact amount of money needed to complete the project because that number largely depends on how much labor and expertise comes from volunteers, as well as how much work will have to be done by paid professionals.
We are estimating an additional $75,000 needed for materials and $25,000 for labor, which will put all six rooms into use for the coming summer. We are excited about the coming completion of six new bunk rooms that will increase our capacity and the quality of housing, for any time of the year! In addition to housing, the lower level of the Brokenstraw will serve as a classroom and activity room throughout the year, as well as the primary emergency storm shelter in camp.
Summer Camp Scholarships – $50,000
It is our firm conviction that God is calling us to minister to the children in our region, regardless of their financial situation. We are able to do this by offering scholarships to any child who cannot afford to pay full price for camp. Over the last five years, we have granted over $300,000 in scholarships to more than 1,500 children who may not have otherwise come to summer camp. Last summer alone, 100 kids made first-time professions of faith in Christ and hundreds more grew in their faith at MMR!
Each year, many individuals and businesses sponsor kids to camp, which may be one of the greatest ways to impact a life with the gospel of Christ. A contribution of $295 will send one child to camp on a full scholarship. This year, we anticipate over 300 children will need scholarship funds to attend summer camp.
Here’s how you can participate in these important ministry opportunities:
Prayerfully consider making an end-of-year financial contribution toward the Scholarship Fund or the completion of the Brokenstraw Bathhouse and Inn.
Pray for the ministry of Miracle Mountain Ranch and let us know of children who you think could benefit from a scholarship to summer camp.
Come and participate in retreats, camps, and events here at MMR!
Tell others about Miracle Mountain Ranch!

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
– Ephesians 3:20-21
I continue to thank and praise the Lord for the great ministry of MMR. Also for the faithful people that the Lord has put in place to carry out the ministry that He has there. I thank the Lord for allowing me to be a participant in the ministry by giving financially what He has made available for me to give.I pray for the continued outreach for the Lost, and also for the decipling ministry. God Richly Bless you all.
