Donor Update

October, 2016

Dear Friends of Miracle Mountain Ranch,

We come to the end of the year praising the Lord for the great blessings and opportunities He has brought before the ministry and staff of Miracle Mountain Ranch.  With hearts of gratefulness for the Lord’s faithfulness over the past year, we write to our partners with our vision as we come to the close of 2016 and move forward in our work here.

The Brokenstraw Bathhouse & Inn:  $75,000

Our Brokenstraw Bathhouse & Inn has been a big project and is nearing its completion, but we need your help to finish.  The building is of great importance to the ministry, and will answer the demands of growing programs and housing needs.  We are committed to improving the housing of our guests, which begins with The Brokenstraw.

We are very excited to announce that we are now able to utilize the entire first floor housing, laundry, and bathhouse!  The stair tower accessing the second floor will be completed by the end of the year and, due to the generosity of a church and a local business, we were able to have the fire suppression system installed.

On the third level, we have roughed in the plumbing and poured the concrete floor.  The remaining things to be completed are drywall, running electrical, flooring, plumbing, and trim.  This third floor will be utilized as housing for the young women in the School of Discipleship, freeing the existing Wells Fargo basement dorms for volunteers and retreats, which will in turn increase our summer camp housing.

The basement level of The Brokenstraw will serve as a classroom and resource/study area for our students in the School of Discipleship during the school year.  For years, the School of Discipleship has not had a designated “home,” but instead we have set up a makeshift classroom in our dining hall around our schedule of retreats and events.  With our enrollment up by 13 students from last year, there is a need for a permanent classroom.  In the summertime, this basement level will double both as an activity room and the primary underground storm shelter right in the middle of camp.

The estimated cost to complete The Brokenstraw is around $75,000, which includes the cost of building materials, as well as furnishings for the dorms and classroom.  Yet to be determined is how much funding will be needed if it becomes necessary to hire out for the project to be completed, which strongly depends on which volunteers become involved with the project. Our specific goal for this End of the Year Campaign is to raise $55,000.

Summer Camp Scholarship Fund: $75,000

As a Christian camp, we are excited for the opportunity to be impacting the hearts of youth during such a crucial season in life.  It is our firm conviction that God has called us to minister to the children in our region, regardless of their financial situation.  Over the last six years, we have granted over $400,000 in scholarships to 1,792 children who may not have otherwise had the opportunity come to summer camp.  The need in our community is a very great one and we never turn a child away due to lack of finances.  Supporting this scholarship fund is perhaps one of the greatest ways you can impact a life with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Each year, many individuals and businesses sponsor kids to attend camp.  A contribution of $300 will send one child to camp on a full scholarship.  This year, we anticipate about 300 youth who will need sponsors, which amounts to about $75,000. Our specific goal for this End of the Year Campaign is to raise $30,000 toward the Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.

Here’s how you can participate in these important ministry opportunities:

  • Prayerfully consider making an end-of-year contribution toward the Scholarship Fund or the completion of the Brokenstraw Bathhouse & Inn.
  • Pray for the ministry of Miracle Mountain Ranch and let us know of children who you think could benefit from a scholarship to summer camp.
  • Come and participate in retreats, camps, and events here at MMR.
  • Tell others about Miracle Mountain Ranch!

Our greatest hope rests in the Lord.  He will continue to supply every need–we only need reflect on the history of the Ranch to see His gracious hand of provision and faithfulness proceed through the years.  Our message is His, our mission is His, and our ministry, from every animal to every building, is His.  Will you prayerfully join us as we continue to dedicate each step of progress into God’s sufficient hands and rest in His provision once again?  May the blessing of the Lord be upon you as you prayerfully consider your response!

In His Service,
